Kirstin:  Interesting article with some good advice.  This is a question I get asked a lot by our students, and I always explain that it is down to personal choice, neither is the better employer, it is down to what type of work environment that you want to work in/learn more about, and also how entrepreneurial are you.  Personally I get the best of both worlds, I work within Higher Education for a large organisation, but also help my partner run our own business for the past 12+ years, definitely keeps me on my toes, and both experiences have helped me grow and develop my skills set http://blog.brazencareerist.com/2013/08/06/startup-vs-big-company-which-is-better-for-your-career/
