101 Relationships Video Challenge

This is a relationship and revenue building challenge from Tyrer Sorrel. It starts with two questions – What is the #1 thing I’ve learned from 18 years in business … and why is it important for you?

Many of you will be in transition.  Transition in your business or transition in your life.  Maybe you want to start a business but it feels like this is so the wrong time.  The odds are stacked against you.  Maybe you’ve just started a business … and well, you’re thinking “it’s scary times”; “it’s hard right now.  You’re laying in bed with the cogs whirring.  More so if your existing business has taken a hit.  I agree it feels that way right now.  I’ve had my fair share of sleepless nights. There’s no magic bullet here and I don’t believe a few motivational words will make it easier for people. I do want to tell you a story that may help though.  I want to offer a challenge.  I’ve told people this story more than once recently and I want to tell it in more detail, in my next challenge.


The Story

I started my business on the 3rd September 2001 …. and 8 days later 911 hit.  I remember I was sitting on a train coming back from an exhibition.  I remember looking around and seeing everyone, yes everyone, getting their phones out, firing up laptops, swearing, trying to get the news.  I remember sitting there thinking “oh wow …” (not the exact words, I swore too) “… this is so the wrong time to start a business.  It’s going to change everything”.  I’d given up a successful 9-5 job.  I’d given up the security.  I’d given up the identity it gave me.  I’d taken a leap of faith and 8 days later it felt like such a bad decision.  It reminds me of right now.


It’s hard.  It was hard …. but here’s the thing, it didn’t stop me.  For years I have even been trying to recapture the essence of year one.  It was an amazing year.  The best, believe it or not.  The crash of 2008 was exactly the same.  Prophets of doom everywhere but amazing came off the back of that too.  It took me many years later to realise why they were amazing years.  What was the difference?

I came to learn that ‘Intimacy’ was the difference.  Hence the subject of the challenge.  This is an ‘Intimacy, Relationships and Revenue Challenge’. In the best years I was more intimate with my business.  More intimate with what I wanted.  I had more clarity and confidence.  I was more intimate with my clients.  I had to be.  Over the years I have definitely forgotten this at times.  The years I forgot it, were the years that I really struggled.  The years that hurt.  It’s a cliche but many parts of business are all about relationships.  Customers, teams, the impact on your family … and more.  That’s why I believe that intimacy is the #1 thing, the #1 most important thing, I’ve learned in 18 years of business.

  • You don’t have enough time in the day – I’ll reveal what I’ve learned about setting up your day to achieve 3 times more in it … and why the video shouldn’t be any longer than 60 seconds anyway.  60 seconds too long?  Ok, how about I show you what I’ve learned to make it 15 seconds.  Someone called me a “Time Finding Expert” recently.  I loved the idea

The goal of the challenge?

I want to get you taking action, creating videos, talking about your business or potential business … and making offers to your customers.  I want you to be more intimate with your business and customers.   I want to show you what I’ve learned over the years and get you to join me as I learn more and grow myself.  I understand the power of challenges.  I launched my first ever challenge in 2009 and called it ‘The 153 Mile Challenge’.  I was walking/running 18,500 miles, the equivalent of ‘around the world’ (you did read that right) … and all I asked people to do was join me for 153 miles.  I did it for 10 years. Why ‘talking about your business’?

Talking is one of the four ‘Key Stages of Intimacy’.  In the challenge I’ll reveal more but it’s an essential step in customer relationships.
